Perhaps one of the easiest methods of sending files across the Internet is attaching files to E-Mail messages, then sending the whole message to an E-Mail account. We have two primary service addresses. Please be sure to include detailed instructions in your message. There is a 2 megabyte limit on E-Mail files, anything larger may be sent via FTP or BBS.
For Personal Information, send your files to
mailto: support@summit-mgmt.com
There are various methods of using FTP, including graphically-based Mac and PC clients. You can download one of these clients from SHAREWARE.COM .
Summit recommends using command line FTP for maximum compatibility. Go to the command line prompt and change to the directory where your file is located. Connect to the Summit FTP server, ftp.summitadv.net by typing
ftp.summitadv.net. Login as anonymous, and use your name as your password. Change to the uploads directory by typing cd uploads. Change to binary data transfer mode by typing binary. Then transmit your file by typing put filename where filename is and the name of the file you are transmitting.
After the file finishes transferring, type quit to log off. Once you have logged off, please call Debbie at 281-980-1900.
Wait until Forms? appears.
Answer.
Next, answer the series of questions regarding your name, phone number, and other personal information. Your first call sets up your BBS account, and you choose a password for your account that you can use on future calls. From the main menu, select Upload by pressing U. Type the filename and extension, then press "ENTER".
Next, type up to 10 lines of production and delivery instructions for us. Then press enter twice and begin your file transmit. After sending your file, disconnect by pressing G for goodbye from the main menu. Once you have logged off, please call Debbie at 281-980-1900 with questions or to verify schedule.
